Family visitor visa for my son in India

Hi Guys,

My son was born in UK in 2012 and I sent him to India on Indian Passport without any visa early 2013, I was on Tier 1 at that time.

Now I hold ILR and planning to bring back my son to UK and apply his citizenship.

1) Is it safe in terms of success to apply a family visitor visa for my 2.5 yr old son.

2) Do I need to write a separate entitlement letter regarding my son why applying his visa.

I can't find any posts relating this, please direct me on this.
