Tier 2 General Visa Holder - After 5 years

Post by capitansuat » Mon Nov 17, 2014 9:15 pm

Hello,

I am very new to visa processing. I wonder what is the procedure for a Tier 2 General Visa Holder after 3+2 years period. Do they have right to stay in UK? Can they apply for indefinite stay (as I understood no). Or do they have to leave the country?

Thanks a lot

To answer in brief - After 6 years of lawful and employed stay (Tier 2 - 3+3 years), they can apply for an ILR provided they are paid at the appropriate rate and get a minimum of £35,000/ year.

Please read up the guidance documents to understand more. This is a pretty basic question.
