COS for Tier 2 VISA by 2 companies ?

Hi Guys

I hope someone can shed some light on this.

I have a COS for extension of my VISA given to me by my existing company .
I am supposed to make a application for the VISA in JAN.

However I am looking for another job and have appeared for interviews. My question is : Can another company issue a COS to me while i already have a COS from my current employer ?

If i was to get the job I interviewed for . Is there a way I could apply for the VISA for the new company instead of old ?

Could someone point me to the appropriate immigration rules ??
