Indefinite leave to remain

Hi

I will be applying for ilr after about year. My question is if I go abroad after taking ilr how long can I stay outside the country. Can I stay one or two year out of the country. Will it get cancelled. I m not yet worried about citizenship so not worry about 180 days absence but will my ilr get cancelled after longer absence
