This is an area for the discussion of matters related to issues about moving from one country to another. Examples could be about money transfer, moving and packing, validity of driving licence, etc..

Bringing money to the UK

Post by coolrock » Tue Dec 16, 2014 1:48 pm

Hello,

I am currently a British national, previously holding Indian Nationality.
Same applies to my wife.

In Home office website, we saw that parents would be able to gift upto £3500 a year without incurring any additional charges. My parents are Indian nationals, living in India.

So if we decide to bring £3500 (in cash)from India, is there any document that we need to provide to Home office. If so, is there a format for the document.

Thanks
