Fiancee Visa timeline

Post by Estrellas » Tue Dec 31, 2013 6:17 pm

Can anyone give a rough guestimate of how long the process will take once the application has been submitted? I guess I just want to know how long till I could see my fiancee.

Thanks

I'll repeat my answer from the last time you posted!

It depends where you submit your application!

Post by Estrellas » Mon Jan 13, 2014 8:15 pm

Once the visa has been granted, does clock start ticking from date visa approved or date of entry back in UK?

So the date the visa issued is the start of the clock?

yes as the visa will have an expiry date of exactly six months later and you do the flr(m) application before it expires

Which country is your fiance from? Does he have a degree taught in English?

The only way you can meet the A1 English requirement for a fiance and spouse visa is by doing the test or having a degree taught in English with the supporting documents from the University and NARIC or being from a majority English speaking country like the USA, Australia, etc.

Secondly, please don't start a new thread every time you have a question.

Is it mandatory to go to the British Council for an interview or if you have enough documentation will they go on that ?

Every application is assessed on it's own individual basis. It's at the discretion of the Home Office/Border Agency if they feel you require an interview or not, regardless of what documents you may submit.

Hi Casa,

Could you post the link for the online form or does it have to be hand written?

We are applying online at https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ 1. reason for visit : settlement , 2 visa type 3 : civil partnership or proprosed civil partnership. Should it be proposed civil partnership as we not married yet but intend to be?

Not unless you are a same gender partnership. Assuming this isn't the case, you should be applying for a fiance visa.

Is it better to do the applications on your own or go through some kind of legal team?
