Covering Letters

Hi,
is it necessary to carry the covering letter or these are optional ? see on this forum many people providing covering letter.

I am not providing any. My understanding is that most of the information needs to be input into the computer from the actual form. Any others please let us know.

A covering letter is an optional. However, if you provide a cover letter some case worker will accept it but somebody not.
Anyway, my cover letter was accepted and straightway she read it.
