Urgent Advise - British Citizenship with new born

Post by RamD1982 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 10:50 am

Hi,
Hope you are good.
We have got our ILR application done last year Nov 2013.

I am currently eligible for British Citizenship. We recently had a baby in Oct 2014. My wife and baby are in India currently.
I am applying for my British Citizenship and would like to understand
1) If we can apply baby visa directly to British Citizenship along with me when he is India.
a. How much time is required?

2) If we can apply baby visa directly to British Citizenship once I complete my processing.
a. How much time is required?
Request you to advise urgently if possible.

Many Thanks !

Then the baby is not British as was born abroad, so not entitled to register as British.

Baby will need a settlement visa/ILE to enter the UK.

What is the visa status of the baby's mother?

You can't as the baby was not born in the UK to parents who hold ILR or to a parent that was ALREADY British so has no entitlement to registration as British.

Once baby has ILE and in the UK you can apply for baby's registration as British Citizen with one or both parent's naturalization application.

I am not an expert, Seniors may give advise on this.

Yes, that may be possible, but baby will need a settlement visa to get into the UK.

Many Thanks for your help.

I am looking @ below link for more reference.
https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... form-vaf4a

1) Can you please advice if above form is correct ?

2) How long baby has to wait to apply British Citizenship once he is in UK?

3) Are there any alternative visa application to vaf4a which gives flexibility to get British Citizenship?

4) what are financial details required?

5) Accommodation requirement - I am currently staying in sharing accommodation.

ILE Child Visa - Maintenance Fund Requirement

Post by RamD1982 » Fri Jan 09, 2015 11:53 am

Dear All,
I am applying my child's visa who is born in India in Oct 2014.

I would like to understand few questions as below

1) Is there are any Maintenance Fund Requirements?

2) For Accommodation context,
I am currently living in 3 Bed Room house which shared with one of my friend. I am planning to provide Utility Bill (Water) and Tenancy Agreement where his name is also available. Is there any issue with is ?

3) I am not giving Council Tax letter. Is there any issue with is ?
My name with current address is available on Bank Statements, Tenancy Agreement, Utility Bill, NHS Medical Card,

Thanks

Hi

Yes you need to meet the financial requirement

Once the baby is granted ILE can be applied for British Citizen ship with the parents

Thanks

krishi572000, thanks for your reply.

My question is more on Maintenance Fund Requirements than financial requirement

I am meeting financial requirement criteria so there is no issue as such.

For applying ILR within UK, there is no Maintenance Fund Requirement.

For applying ILE (outside UK), there is no Maintenance Fund Requirement as UKBA but wanted to get confirmation from forum members.

I believe that adequate maintenance is required.

I am applying Application for UK visa for family settlement: form VAF4A

Link : https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... form-vaf4a

As per https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... endix2.pdf

Applying with no child dependents under 18 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> - an income before tax of at least £18,600 a year
Applying with one child dependent under 18 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> - an income before tax of at least £22,400 a year
Applying with two child dependents under 18 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> - an income before tax of at least £24,800 a year
Applying with three child dependents under 18 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> - an income before tax of at least £27,200 a year

It is clear on what salary slab sponsor should be.

There are no statements related to maintenance fund etc which assume to be no need of it. Please correct me if I am wrong
