PIO for Minor children Documents Checklist

As parents who have valid OCI - we want to apply for PIO for our 2 minor children (both had Indian passports - now surrendered)
Can someone who has applied in a similar category please respond with the documents required check list.
Application by post:


Copy of Foreign/British Passport,
Naturalization Certificate (if born in India)
Surrender Certificate.
Four passport size photographs(35 mm by 45 mm size)

Do they require passport copies of parents? Embassy website does not give any further details.

The children are eligible for PIO on their own basis (as they had Indian passports) hence parent's documents are not necessary.

parent's documents are required if applying on parent/grand parent's basis

Below is the copy of the email I received from HCI on my query about a year ago and it must be the same now: Hope this helps.
"Quote" Dear Mr xxxx,
Following Documents are required for your son PIO card

1) Dully filled application form
2) Four photograph (35 mm by 45 mm size)
3) Applicant’s Birth Certificate
4) Applicant’s British passport copy
6) Parent's OCI Card copy
7) Fees minor is 112 and adults 217(cash/postal order at counter and by post only Postal order).
Pre-paid self addressed envelope.

Please Bring all your original and photocopies of the document.
