ILR and civil judgement

Post by mrdell80 » Wed Jan 14, 2015 10:54 pm

Hi,

I am eligible for an ILR in June and do not want to do anything to jeopardize this.

However, my ex landlord is not returning my deposit. He is just not responding.

I can raise a dispute with an adjudicator, but he the landlord has an option of not choosing this ADR service. This means then the matter goes to court. Although its in my landlords interest not to go to court, but I dont want to risk it.

Although I am the victim here, I do not want to get involved in any CCJ.

I would like to hear from the experience people here about what I should do in this case? What kind of check are done when a CCJ is involved? I believe UKBA wants to know if we are involved with the civil courts but does not distinguish if we are the victims or the culprits.

Thanks.
