OCI card or Indian visa

Post by params0073 » Tue Jan 20, 2015 4:26 pm

Hi,
My daughter never had Indian passport and we have registered her as a British. Parents have indefinite leave to remain with Indian passport. We would like to apply for PIO card for my daughter but the HCL website it says you can no longer apply for PIO card. Does that mean we have to apply for Indian visa for our daughter as we still haven’t got British citizenship or can we apply for OCI card for her ?

Thanks
Param

correct.

as per the Citizenship Amendment Ordinance PIOs, who were earlier unable to apply for OCI, are now eligible to apply for OCI.
