Tier 2 dependent

Post by mando112 » Tue Jan 27, 2015 9:59 pm

Hi All,

I may be applying as dependent of my partner . She is currenly on T2 so in order to meet the finance requirement, does she only need to have £630 in her account for 90 days or £945 plus £630 ?

I am asking because I am applying while she already has the visa.

Many thanks

£630 maintenance funds have to be shown for you unless your partner's employer provides a letter guaranteeing your maintenance for a month should this be necessary.

many thanks , is that only £630 for me or she needs to show £945 either way plus £630 ?

If I am applying on my own then why would she still need to have £945 for herself?

@Mando112

Each dependant must have £630 available to them whether they apply with you or separately. This is in addition to the £945 you must have to support yourself.
Means you have to show 630+945 = 1575 £

Note: this is the requirement in both case either main applicant is in UK or you both applying at the same time.

you won’t need evidence of your savings if you have a letter from your fully approved (‘A-rated’) sponsor saying they’ll provide one month’s funding of at least £630 for each of your dependants.

main applicant is already in the UK on T2G and she is not applying for anything, i.e. she does not need to show maintenance funds

Note that if your wife have been in the UK as a Tier 2 (General) Migrant for more than 12 months the maintenance requirement to be met for you and your wife is £1,575 (£945 for main applicant and £630 per dependant).

You both won't need to show any evidence if your wife company gives a sponsor letter to you as following

a letter. The letter can have been posted or faxed to the family member but must be on official letter-headed paper or stationery of the organisation, be signed by a senior official and show:
• your name,
• the family member’s name
• the sponsor’s name and logo
• confirmation that the sponsor has certified the maintenance, and
• Details of limits to the undertaking (if appropriate).

I would suggest to put more detail on the letter such your wife salary, time in company, position, passport, BRP

Hi,

Last three posts seem conflicting?

Respected Guru says: only for the dependent if the main applicant is in UK i.e. six hundred something

Other members say: Fifteen hundred and something

please can this be clarified?

Many Thanks

Manci is correct. Since your partner is already on Tier 2, she does not need to show maintenance for herself as she is not making an application. Only £630 to demonstrate that your expenses for the first month can be met without recourse to public funds. The funds can be in your account or hers and must be held continuously for at least 90 days prior to your application date.
