Court and Fine for riding a bus without ticket

Post by 4uvak000 » Sat Jan 31, 2015 6:49 pm

Hi to all. My friend is about to apply for BC. She was traveling without the ticket by bus in 2003-2004 (she does not remember exactly). Was stopped by inspector and taken her details. After approximately 9 months received a letter from the court saying that she had to pay a fine. Paid in full straight away. She did not mentioned it in her ILR application as the fine was long time ago. She does not have that letter and does not remember which court sent her the letter. The only sure thing is that it was in 2003-2004. Does she need to mention it in her AN form? It says there that all offences have to be declared no matter how long time ago occurred. Don't they have a rehabilitation period? Are they still on the system? It was more than 10 years ago. Will declaring it now affect her ILR? Thanks.

Its different for citizenship. She has to declare the conviction no matter how long it has been since she was convicted.
Should cause a problem though as long that is the only thing.

Thanks for your reply. I assume you meant "should not" cause a problem. Might it have any impact on her ILR? And yes, this is the only thing.
