family visas

Post by meritocrat » Sat Feb 07, 2015 5:03 pm

Dear all,
I would appreciate if you could help me with questions below. I have an ILR, but my wife and a child are abroad (non English speaking country)

1) Does my wife need to prove she meets the English language requirement test?.
2) In an online application, will choices be :Settle->>Settle->>-Wife to create an application?
3) if she wants to avoid the English language requirement, what application should we use?

Many thanks in advance,
M

3) if she wants to avoid the English language requirement, what application should we use? She can't avoid it for a spouse visa unless there are exceptionally compelling reasons and you have the proof or she is over 65 years of age

Many thanks in advance,

Thanks a lot CR001,

What if she applies for Famjily visitor visa (1 year)?
Does she still need to pass the language requirement?
And if she doesn't, can she extend/or change to a dependent visa once she passes the language test?

Many thanks

How will she prove her intent to return to her home country on a visit visa? She cannot stay/live in the UK for 1 year on a visit visa anyway.

She cannot switch to another category if she is in the UK on a visitor visa.
