Healthcare and education under tier 2 visa? income tax?

Post by Jayjolly » Sat Feb 07, 2015 8:13 pm

I have been offered a job in the UK and will bring my dependents (wife, 2 children) with me. Under this tier 2 visa are my children entitled to free education and healthcare? What other benefits does my family get?

Do I also pay income tax and if so is it the same calculation as a uk citizen?

I'm in no way an expert but I don't think you get any other 'benefits'.

You pay Income Tax and National Insurance exactly like a British Citizen would for your salary.

So I have to pay to put my children to state school? and get medical insurance?

It's kinda unfair since I will be paying taxes. Don't you think?

You can use state schools and the NHS.

Also you pay exactly the same tax/insurance as everyone else.

By any other, I actually meant any extra to the ones you've already mentioned. So NHS (Healthcare) and State School as the previous post mentions.
