can I apply Irish passport?

Post by Greener1 » Sun Feb 08, 2015 10:52 am

Hello, im here for asking a question about applying Irish passport.

Im non eu and married a northern Irish ( holds Irish passport only) 3 years ago and I have been living in the north Ireland with him last 24 months without leaving the island on my eea2. So can I apply a Irish passport/ citizenship as im spouse of Irish?

Also we have a dual Irish British citizen kid, would that help me to get a Irish passport?

Looking forward to hear smart answers.

Thanks.

As far as I understand, and stand to be corrected, you have to live with your Irish spouse for 3 years in the ROI before you can start the process to become an Irish citizen.

As far as I know your child's status would only help in the country that he is a citizen of. Seeing as it is Ireland you're best bet would be to approach the embassy.

Hope that helps.
