Application returned due to 20 days less in 5 yr completion

Post by stupidimmigrant » Mon Feb 09, 2015 7:02 am

Hi All,

My tier 1 general was granted on 25-Mar-2010 till 25-Mar-2013 (I am in 3+2).

Booked personal appointment for extension on 05-Mar-2013.

Received extension till: 05-Mar-2015 (same old debate with case worker about granting extension from 25-Mar-2013 and not from 05-Mar-2013 but he was pretty sure that it was not possible)

Earlier this year, called Home office helpline number twice to avoid confusion for application of ILR shall be 28 days before 25-Mar-2015 or 05-Mar-2015. They advised both times to apply 28 days before 05-Mar-2015.

So booked an appointment today, 06-Feb-2015 and had to go through the same old rubb*sh of completing 5 years before making an application, the case worker told me that I have to apply after 25-Feb because I am few days short for 5 years completion.

I told her I asked Home office helpline twice, but she said she do not know why they advised me like that but they can only entertain my application after 25-Feb and before 05-Mar. So I left.

All documents were complete, everything was in order and they took my Biometrics information as well.

Does anyone have experience of this kind of situation? I have booked another appointment on 26-Feb but just wanted to check, if I need to provide reference of today's appointment on 26th Feb? e.g. a question in the form, when was last Biometrics done? Shall I provide today's date or the date of extension when they took my biometrics 2 years ago?

No documentation of 06-Feb appointment visit was given to me.

Yes she is right, it is with in 28 days before your 1st visa stamped date regardless of your current visa expiry date and 1st visa was issued either with in UK or one travelled with in 90 days.
In your case its 28 days before 25th March which 25th February.
This is very clear why you got confused ?

Thanks hbkimran.

I got confused because when I called home office on their helpline twice, they told me that I can apply from 05-Feb-2015.

You can write bio matric date of extension time.
Are you paying again or same fee will adjusted.

Ok. Thank you.

I booked another appointment and paid full fees.

The lady at the premium centre said, they will refund my fees -£100 administration fees. She did not say when it will be refunded, nor I have been given any documents.

I will post here once, I receive refund.

Hi All,

An update from my side, the money I paid for application on 6th Feb has been refunded by UKVI. I received an e-mail today from the card transaction company worldpay that the money has been refunded. It is still not in my account yet but hope to see refund back soon.

UKVI deducted £100 for admin cost.

thank you.
