Name change in Naturalisation

Post by jasonmutu » Thu Feb 26, 2015 1:17 pm

Hi All,

My wife had her ceremony done and we noticed that her surname and given name is in different order. We have re-applied for changing the name in proper order. Any of you had experience like this before? Do you know how long it will take to re-issue the naturalisation certificate?

Without both indian passport and british passport in hand it makes us bit nervous :?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

How did it appear on the certificate?

It should be like this :

*Surname* First Name Second Name
Char (CR001 not Casa)

It could take a few weeks to receive a correction if it was HO error.

You say you don't have an Indian passport? Why is that as you would have needed a passport to apply for naturalisation and need one to send with your British passport application.

thanks

Well, she has sent her Indian passport to HO to show how name should appear in the certificate. It was mandatory requirement for correction.

Cheers!

Don't stress too much. She will get her docs back around the same time if not in the same envelope.

Hi jasonmutu ,

Could you kindly update your situation, when did you get your passport and certificate back?

Thank you
