ILR Success in Croydon on 26-Feb-2015

Post by stupidimmigrant » Fri Feb 27, 2015 8:34 am

Hi All,

I have received an ILR yesterday at Croydon office. here is how it went:

Submitted documents:
No Document Name/Description
1 SET (O) Form
2 Recent Photographs
3 Passports
4 Biometric Residence Permit
5 Payment Confirmation e-mail
6 Application Payment Sheet
7, 8, 9 Letters from UKBA for previous VISA, extension applications.
10 Original Academic transcript
11 Original Academic certificate
12 P60 End of Year Certificates
13 P45 Part 1A
14 Letter from Accountant and Dividend report
15 Letter from previous and Current employer/s
16 Agency and Client contracts and letter
17 Salary Slips (7 months permanent employment+5 months limited company contractor)
18 Dividend Certificates
19 Invoices
20 Profit Loss Statements
21 Taxes Paid
22 Personal Bank Account Statements
23 Business Bank Account Statements
24 Certificate of Incorporation
25 Company Register
26 Companies details on Companies House
27 HMRC registration documents
28 Business Insurance documents
29 Travel Insurance documents
30 Life in the UK test Pass notification
31 Point based calculator: Self-Assessment Summary
32 Rented accommodation contract

I put post-it notes on each document with the serial no.

Booked an appointment for 0820 hrs.
Reached Center at 0745 hrs.
Admitted inside immediately.
Case logged in at 0825 hrs.
Biometrics were done immediately at 0830 hrs.
Provided options to wait or go outside. I stayed inside.
Token called in at 0928 hrs. No questions/queries.
Caseworker said, my application is approved and will receive BRP in 7 working days.

All people were very professional. Can not beat premium appointment service of UKVI.

PS: I mentioned earlier about an appointment on 06-Feb, when my application was returned (not refused) because I applied 20 days early. No mention of that appointment this time.

Thanks to all forum members who responded and advised in this matter.

Congratulations on your recent successful ILR application.

I'd like to ask few questions and how you have answered them in your Set o form:

6.1 When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first
entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based.

If you switched your category within UK then which date did you put in the above question?

7.12 Please state what ties you have with:
• The country where you were born.
• Any other country whose nationality you hold.
• Any country where you have lived for more than five years.
You should tell us about any family, friends, or other connections with that country.

I just wanted to find out if you mentioned UK ties in the above questions?

Thank you

Congratulations!! Can I ask you a question? at the appointment when they said your application was approved, do they give you a letter saying so? Or nothing official just an verbal approval and wait for your bimetric card to arrive?

Thank You and congrats again!

Ideally this is the date when your visa is granted using which you are eligible for ILR but I entered the date when I came to the UK on student VISA and no questions were asked by case worker

In my case, I was on Tier 1 General for 5 years so do not know much about switching but e.g. if you have stayed 5 years on a combination of eligible categories, you can enter the date on which leave was granted to you on the first eligible category for ILR

No, I did not mention UK, I only mentioned the country where I was Born and where my parents live. I believe it's pretty obvious that you are living in the UK for more than 5 years and they are interested in knowing about countries other than UK
Thank you

They indeed give you a letter which says they are returning your passport and submitted original documents and BRP will be sent to you via post and another letter which explains about what does it mean being granted an ILR to you. What restrictions are lifted and what restrictions stay

Thank You and congrats again!

Sorry Krish19, I do not know which section is applicable to me. I was always eligible so did not go much in details about immigration rules

Hey Mate,
Did you maintain any funds for 90 days which is requirement for Tier-1 extension. I have seen many people answering it is not required but couldn't find any UKBA doc which says maintenance fund is not a requirement for ILR.

11 L is for people who were on Tier2 and tier1 though. Were you in the same situation?

I did maintain the balance for previous 90 days from the application date

Not sure about this but on the safer side, I did maintain the balance, I do not think maintaining £945 is difficult if someone have eligible earning for extension/ILR

I was on Tier 1 General and 11L is only for Tier 1 general if you are using SET (O) form
