Sister-in-law funds needed

Post by thecoogan » Fri Mar 13, 2015 11:42 am

Hello,

Me and my wife are inviting my wife's sister to the UK this June for 5-6 weeks. She is travelling on a Argentinian passport and I wanted to know how much money she needs to prove she has per day to be in the UK.

She will arrive with a invitation letter saying me and my wife will support per financially whilst in the UK. We would cover the cost of accommodation, food, etc.

My wife is worried that her arriving with just £500-600 cash wouldn't be enough.

Thanks

Few suggestions for you -

1. If sponsor (you/wife) is permanent salaried employee and sponsoring, better chance of approval.
2. Change return date later: With £500-£600 in account, better book flight tickets for say 2-weeks and plan application as of 2-week visit. After arrival, change flight dates to 5-6 weeks because visa is normally for 6 months.
3. If sister-in-law is student/not-employed then it is important that you submit proofs of her reason to return back.

Sorry I forget to mention - She an visit the UK visa free. She is living in Bolivia on an Argentinian passport.

The concern is just around immigration clearance on landing in the UK. Yes we are both working with over 70k+ a year income.

She is also working as a child-minder. Would she need to have a letter (in English) from them saying they are employing her on her return?

I don't think there is an issue with her arriving but my wife likes to be more stressed. :)

and all wife(s) transfer that stress to hubbies.

Just to be on safer side: Its better to get the letter from her current employer, plus your sponsorshipl letter/3-months slips shall be more than enough.

Your payslip copies (sponsors).
With regular income of yours, it should be easier for her.
