child born in the uk expired visa can apply mn1

Post by itontips » Wed Mar 18, 2015 11:13 am

Hi,

Can you please confirm if everything gone fine with your application? I got a similar situation as well. I am applying for ILR next month but don't wanna include my child because he born in UK. however he has got visa and BRP which is expiring next month as well.

Was just thinking if it is safe to skip his application from mine?

Thanks,
Gurpreet Malhi

Yes. Once you have ILR you can apply to register child as British on form MN1 under section 1(3) of the nationality. This is an entitlement to register as British because child was born in the UK.

It is safe. My siter waited until she got her ILR before applying for british citizenship for her child that was born in the UK.
