Schengen Tourist visa -travel insurance cover dates

Hi
I am applying Schengen tourist visa and have chosen multiple entries. My first intended travel is to visit Amsterdam from 08th May to 11th May 2015.Got hotel booking and flight tickets and all other required documents.

Though i have chosen multiple entries i have not planned any of my future trips yet.so not mentioning any in the application.

Got a query on travel insurance cover dates,so that it satisfies my multi entry visa request

should i buy insurance just for the my first intended schengen trip ie 4 days
or
is there a minimum number of days i should buy insurance for

Just buy your insurance for the days you will be on the schengen area, that's all you need to show them in case they ask you, pointless to pay for insurance for the periods you are not in the schengen area
