appointment tomorrow - documents for vacations

Post by muditmalhotra » Sun Mar 29, 2015 3:25 pm

Hi All

I am applying for ILR in person tomorrow, going through this forum I have a doubt..

In last 5 years total days out of uk is 155, all of these days are vacations or visiting home. no official days out..

do we still need to provide any proof or documents supporting this ?

Thanks
Regards
Mudit

If you had been out of UK in last 5 years (doesn't matter paid official or personal), you have to provide an evidence for that. Normally a letter from employer, air ticket invoices, boarding passes etc should do the job.

Don't you have email when you booked the ticket? Contact your travel agent if they could help you.

Hi,

How many days out of 155 were in last 12 months?

It could be a time consuming task but could you not look-up on your passport for stamps to work-out almost correct in & out of country dates?

I haven't applied for ILR yet however have read a lot of posts on this forum. I think as long as your absence from the UK is less than 180 days in last 5 years and is within the limit for last 12 months, if you explain this on a covering letter you should be fine.

Thanks.

You don't need tickets. It's Home Office, if they want they can cross check your travel.

If you have already mentioned this on the application and have also given a covering letter then I think you should be fine.

Just want to check couple of things....these 155 days were you employed or self-employed during this time?
If employed was the travel out of your annual paid leave? If yes, you might need letter from your employer.

Thanks.

Hi Mudit

Congrats!

Can you please help us with the following?

Did you tick any boxes for Section 6.3?

Is employer letter mandatory? Did you provide any cover letter to explain your absences?
