kt,
please check faq section
http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=703
you can request reference number and ask for status.
Also check operarational service levels on workingintheuk.gov.uk site to see which date they process.
they must have one month to reach you.
Cheers

Thanks Bugmaster, I appreciate that. There was one more thing, I wanted to find out. I am running a specialised news content portal with a growing number of clients from India. Is it possible to shift my business from India to the UK as my economic activity?
The another aspect of this issue is I started this portal after sending my application. When I dispatched my HSMP application I was working as an employee of another company. So what if HSMP asks for any other info on my employment status?
cheers :D

1. I can see a reason why you could not shift your business to the UK
2. I can't understand, are yo unot able to contact you previous company?
Anyway I can't remember a case when they requested infro from employers.
