UK immigration

Post by Zippy1992 » Sun Apr 05, 2015 2:04 pm

Hi everyone, I am an English born British citizen and have recently married my Mexican wife.
We are in the process of applying for a visa but can not find information as to whether or not work paid (tied housing) can count towards a financial requirement as this makes up a large portion of my wages.
Can anybody shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance.

My income is £13000 a year, with the job however I am am contractually given a house. My employer pays £6250 a year for this house in rent. Can this count towards a financial threshold. I.e if I was earning £18600 a year I would have to pay rent bringing my wages down to £12350 a year. Whereas now they are worth around £19250 a year.

Do you get the money or just the house? Does the rent amount feature on your payslips?

Then it appears you cannot use it. You have to show and prove monetary income with bank statements and corresponding payslips to meet the financial requirement minimum of £18,600.

Is it mentioned in your contract letter. I mean you must have a contract letter/appointment letter that should state your salary + benefits(accomodation/house provided). If its documented then shouldn't be any problem.

Its my personal opinion and I am not an expert so wait for their opinion as well.
