Tier 1 (General) to ILR with Dependant

Post by canceriens » Fri Apr 10, 2015 4:47 pm

Hi Forum,

I am a bit confused as you would me to be. Hence, I am posting the questions.

I complete my 5 years on Tier 1 General in April 2016 so I would be eligible for ILR.
My dependant completes 2 years and 9 months in April 2016.
My dependant entered in the UK in August 2013.

I have few questions.

1. When I apply for ILR what would happen to my dependant's visa. Would it be the same as mine (ILR) or would it extend to some other kind of visa?
2. How much maintenance do I need to show this time for last 90 days?
3. How much earnings do I need to show this time in last 12 months? i.e. would it be the same as to when I applied for Tier 1 initially or is there any difference?
4. What are the applicable fees for both of us?
5. If we both have to apply for different visas then what type of forms we need to fill out?

Any other information related to my case would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks

you apply currently on set(o) although they can change stuff by then
currently the postal fee is 1500
you score points for degree and earnings based on the same scheme that was applicable on the day of your first sucessfull tier 1 application (initial)
there is no maintenance req

your dependant applies for extension as a PBS dependant

Hi sagareva,

Thank you for your reply.

Please can you give me a little bit more of an advice.

I am completing 10 years in the UK 8 months earlier than the Tier 1 (General) is due for ILR. There are no long gaps. In fact may be only 300 days in different times during the whole 10 years. Would you advice that I go for ILR based on my long residency or shall I wait for my T1 for when it comes to its end and then apply for ILR?

Thanks
