Family visitor - HSMP Sponsor

Hello,

Hope everyone is doing fine. I need some guidance. My brother in law is residing in UK on HSMP visa (applied for indefinite, which he will get in May 2016), he called my sister this year on HSMP dependent visa. Now i want to visit them from Pakistan but i am not sure whether to apply for family visitor or General visitor. Also according to UKBA site, Standard Visitor has replaced General & Family visitor but when i try to apply online, it asks me if i need a General visitor or Family visitor visa. Please help

Also my brother in law is sponsoring my visit and i'd be living with them during my stay..

There is no longer two separate visa ie family or general.

Since 24th April, a few different visit categories have been combined into one called Standard Visit visa. Please see link below.

thank you for your reply. Just guide that even if i apply for standard visitor, i'd still attach the same documents from my sponsor like his bank statements, pay slips. copy of passport and visa card, tenancy agreement. Am i missing something?

Yes he can provide documents to support, however it is very important that the parents provide their own set of evidence and documents to prove their financial position and strong ties to their home country. If they don't, they face a likely refusal.
