My petition:
Exemption from Immigration Health Surcharge for those applying for their current visa extension within the UK and have been contributing to the taxes and national insurance
I have read quite a few posts on this forum where everyone is only chatting about this new surcharge and how it affects them. An extra £200 per year is no joke especially when you think of those who have already been living in the country and simply want to extend their visa...in my case FLRM extension but for someone else it could be the tier 2 General extension or some other category... There is a difference between just discussing an issue or a problem and taking charge to act on a problem. Let's all sign the petition so that the MPs take a note.1,000 signatures leads to a response from MP. 100,000 signatures leads to the petition being discussed within the parliament. The immigration health surcharge maybe valid for those coming into the uk for the first time but ideally should not affect those already living here for 2-3 years. Hope you all agree.
Dear moderators...ideally i would have wanted this post to be identified as its own thread but if you People are really interested in bringing a change then help me create an awareness to get this petition signed which will surely be helpful to many of us on this forum
No I'm British born and bred and have paid into the NHS system for over 40 years. If migrants want to use it they'll have to pay for it is my view (and that of the UK Gov).piyush79 wrote:Thanks Wanderer...i believe you may not be affected by this change or maybe you already are a British citizen. I have an issue paying this additional health surcharge considering that in last 3.5. Years i have paid 36K in taxes and 16K in national insurance plus i don't even use nhs as i have private health insurance through my employer. Therefore this petition is for those like me in a similar situation and having contributed quite a bit in to the uk economy with no intention to claim any benefits or even use NHS services.
This approach won't fly, what if you have a car crash or your house catches fire meaning you need emergency treatment.piyush79 wrote:Thanks Wanderer...i believe you may not be affected by this change or maybe you already are a British citizen.
