Visit Visa Fee & £85 ?

Post by Double V » Wed May 06, 2015 10:58 am

Hi

Hope this is the right place to post.
I am about to submit my parents application and pay the fee online.
The agent back home says I don't need to pay £85 as that is only for 6 months.

I should pay the fee for 10 year which is £737.

But on the Home Office site, it states you must pay £85 to apply, plus an additional fee depending on your visa length.

Confused.

Can you please clarify this for me.

If you are applying for a single visit which is less than 6 months, it is £85.

The 10 year visa is valid for 10 years but your parents can't stay for more than 6 months in a single visit.

If you are applying for the first time, I would suggest to apply for the £85 pound visa.

Hi thanks

No they have been here before.
They already had 5 years visa. Now we are applying for 10 year long term.
And I am aware of the maximum stay limit (6 months).

Was just wondering, what that £85 was.
So we only need to pay 10 year fee not plus the £85 ?
