Tier 2 Dependent visa from Outside UK

Post by kanudha » Sat May 09, 2015 5:22 pm

Hello,

I am working in UK and have just joined my work in the last week on a Tier 2 General work visa. My husband is in a Schengen country on her separate work permit and about to finish his job in order to join me here in UK. We want to apply for him as a dependent Tier 2 General visa. Our questions are the following:

1. Is this Tier 2 visa OK for him to apply and he can find work here? (I am worried if he may be refused/rejected as a potential immigrant who seek work and come to UK.)
2. The documents we are going to submit for him are as follows:
a) His passport
b) Copy of residence permit in the country of present residency
c) 1 passport size photograph
c) his independent bank statement (Is this OK?)
d) Visa form complete and signed
e) our marriage certificate
f) My CoS and my work contract
g) since I have no salary slips so we will submit a copy of my contract with a letter from me stating that my income is sufficient for his living here
h) Copy of my visa or work permit and passport
i) a letter proving where I live and also where he will live with me

3. Are these documents sufficient or do you suggest us something else?
4. What will be the cost of application?
5. According to new rules do we have to pay for NHS amount also which is additional 600 GBP?
6. Processing time of 2-3 weeks is OK?
Thank you very much. All of your help will be much appreciated.

I can't answer all your questions but will do the ones I can :

1. Yes, he can apply for a Tier 2 dependent visa if you as the main applicant spouse has a Tier 2 visa. He will be allowed to work.
3. Not sure but seems fine.
4. Fees are in this link : https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/overview
5. Yes, he will have to pay the NHS surcharge at point of application : https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigrati ... cation/pay
6. Not sure how long from but the link provided in point 4 says 3 weeks.
