Comparison of Gross salary of Tax return Docs

Hi,

The form-16 document that I have shows certain gross salary.

Should the total of gross salary on the the salary slips ( Sep-06 to Mar-07) upon being pro-rated to 12 months match with the annual gross salary on form-16.

I think it is rarely the case that one gets the same salary for all the 12 months owing to variable components that are part of salary or increments.

People who have had thier desicion made on applicaitons which had thier tax docs not covering the full 12 month period can please cast their valuble experience here.
