Schengen visa with Nigerian passport and naturalisation cert

Hi wondering if anyone can help me on this,

I'm travelling to paris in a few weeks. My passport is currently at the UK home office where i've applied for naturalisation. I plan to receive the result shortly. However the timeframe will be to short to apply for a British passport and i'll have to use my Nigerian passport with a Schengen visa.

My question is can i present my naturalisation certificate when applying for the Schengen visa, and could this possibly make them process it quicker? Thanks.
