Child Benefit - British Child to British father

Post by jimmy83 » Tue May 26, 2015 11:10 pm

Hi Everyone, My new born baby boy is now British Passport holder since he was born after my ILR. My wife is still on Tier1 dependent visa.
Can we claim child benefit ? If yes, will it cause any trouble for my wife since she has restriction of Public funds.

Many Thanks

Yes, child benefit in your name as you are allowed to claim.

If you qualify for child tax credits, this must be claimed jointly with your spouse.

No effect on future HO applications for your spouse.
