Tier 2 ICT - Before April 6 2011

hello, I had question as it relates to my Tier 2 ICT Visa Status.

Visa Type: Tier 2 ICT - Long Term Staff
Date of Visa application: April 5 2011
Date of Visa Issued: April 20 2011
Date of Entry: May 2011

Can someone confirm:

1) will the laws in place before April 6 2011 apply to me?
2) for how long can I extend my visa? Assuming the laws before april 6 2011 apply to me - does that mean I must apply in 2 year increments?

To determine which rules will apply, your date of payment is considered as your application date (assuming you applied outside UK for your initial visa). If you had paid on or before 5th April, older rules will apply, otherwise the new one frm 6th April.

Assuming that rules before 6th April applies for you, you can extend your ICT visa for any number of years as long as your employer is ready to provide you with a CoS.

My initial visa was for 3 years, then renewed for another 2, expiring next year. Assuming I should be good to reapply for an extension tehen.

I believe tier 2 ict between apr 2010 and 2011 named as tier 2 ict- established staff. It was called long term staff after rule change in apr 2011. To avoid any surprise, it is better to check with the agent who process the visa for your company.

Hi All,

I have similar situation. First Visa was issued in Jun 2010 - entered UK in Aug 2010 and thereafter extended Visa from UK in 2012 and 2014. Now I assume from above post I am still eligible for extension? But I was out of country for 11 months continuously but had valid UK Visa - Does that make difference?
