Success story ILR Postal application

Post by shylady » Mon Jun 08, 2015 3:15 pm

To all learned Gurus of this board

Would like to share my success story for my and 2 depandants Indefinate leave remain (tier 2 general route)

6/5/2015 Posted application
7/05/2015 : HO received
13/5/2015 (DATED :8/5/2015) Received acknowledgement letter
15/5/2015: : Received Biometric letter
15/5/2015 : Biometrics registered through post office
26/5/2015 : Return of passport and previous BRP Card (no decision just return of documents)
6/6/2015 : Approval decision letter along with rest of documents
8/6/2015 : BRP (issued on 4/6/2015) with Indefinate leave stamp received (YAY!!!!)
Happy days :D :D :D

Just to share with other applicants, I was a bit apprehensive of sending the applicaltion by post but the extra cost of £400 per person (total £1200) held me back from PEO appointment and since I did not have urgent travel plans and my case was very clear cut with all supporting documents, I decided to post it.

From the above timeline, my case took exactly one month from date of receipt at the HO.

I had sent the usual documents as follows

1. Letter from employers for continued employment with SOC code etc
2. Bank Statements six months
3. payslips for self and my spouse six months
4. P60s for self and spouse 5 years
5. CCouncil Tax bills and utitlity in joint names three years
6. Marriage certificate
8. Life in Uk test and English test certificates (from Trinity college London) for both
9. Absences from Uk (did not have many) - provided death certificates and e tickets
10. My Sons school progress reports and school sports trip letters
12. Property documents for purchase of house in the UK

I sent my sons reports to prove how well he was doing in school and his integretion into the society,

In summary I had mentioned following in te additional information box
How well we had settled in the uk,
law abiding citizens
sons progress in school

I hope my case does help other members.

I take this opportunity to thank everyone's advise and all the best to everyone!

Actually you could have saved money by using PEO and received the decision within a couple of hours. You sent your postal application off on 06/05/2015 at the cost of £1500 for each person plus roughly another £20 for biometrics at post office.

The old fees prior to 6 April 2015 was £1493 per person including biometrics for PEO. Dates are released 42 days in advance and if you booked prior to 6 April, you would have paid the old fees (which is what I did).

Thanks WR!.

I understand what you are saying but at that point of time (my 28 days before the 5 year completion fell on 1st May 2015) I had heard and read lot of conflicting views from different forums about this. Some said that they paid old fees and some mentioned that they had to fill current form and pay current fees.

Anyways thats all in the past. What matters now that can move forward and look forward to naturalization and red passport :) :)

Once again I would like to thank views of all members and expert advise of the Gurus.
