My question is, Is it possible to visit other Europion union countries.
while on HSMP.

well you can visit any country you want, but not with that visa you will need to apply for seperate visas for the rest of the EU, with some of the the mainland ones, you only apply for a 'schengen visa' which can allow you to visit more than one country without having to get separate visas. so the answer to your Q is no.

i think one can visit Switzerland without requiring visa if one has resident visa of UK/Schengen countries.

Each country has different rules, residence is not the same as nationality, while under the HSMP you are no different from any other citizen from your country.
then, is another matter....
