Hi all,
I has an NCS appointment yesterday to submit my AN application.
I came to the UK on a Tier 2 in 2009 and had to pass a TOEFL exam in order to satisfy English language requirement.
I then acquired ILR in June 2014 and at the time I didn't have to submit an English test or anything, just my Life in The UK.
Now here's the thing:
Yesterday I went to my appointment expecting to only submit my Life in the UK test, and simply tick the box:
"I met the knowledge of language and life requirement to qualify for settlement on or after 28th October 2013; "
To my surprise, the NCS lady insisted that I need to submit an English test alongside ticking the box. She even called Home Office and they confirmed that. I ended up having to call my wife and ask her to bring me my old Toefl test from 2009 in order to submit it. I'm a bit worried now that it might be too old and they end up asking me to pass a new one?
Anyway I thought I should give everyone in my situation a heads up, in case they thought they only need to submit the Life in the UK if they obtained ILR after october 2013.
I could obviously be the only person who thought so!
Anyway hope it helps.
