Help with visa application please help me please!

Post by sally12345 » Thu Sep 20, 2007 12:11 am

Hi All,

It is my first time on this site and I find it so helpful. Anyway, I am due to leave the U.K and marry my partner of 4 years in his country he was an overstayed and we both decided that it makes life easier if he return I marry him and apply for a spouse visa just a few questions I would like answered please.

1) My income is 19,000pa but I work weekends at a youth club and my salary is 8,830 pro rota

2) I have around 3,000 in savings and its likely to grow I hope

3) I own my own home

4) We have a baby

I wanted to know if I could apply for a spouse visa based on all of the above it’s just that my salary might be seen as low?

Also do you pay to put in a spouse application? And hw do you do this?

Also I get working tax credits is this seen as public funds

I welcome all advice please.

Bless you all

.P.S also I have a she box full of documents I.e. of our relationships how do I submit this all? I have photos, letters bills, cards, and the lot?

Sally,
Welcome to our site I'm sure we will answer all your questions.

1) In terms of your income, you have no concerns.

2) We assume that you are British, so applying for a spouse visa, should not cause any problem's , providing your husband to be has no stamps in his passport, saying he has overstayed.(In which case it may be a little more complicated)

3) Regarding costs I think there is a fee to pay for the visa, but I don't seem to be able to find it of the HO web site, so maybe some one else.

Good luck

If your husbands passport has a stamp in it, with any negitive remarks, ie illegal or overstayer.
It might be worth while applying for a new passport in his country of origin and then applying with his new passort for a spouse visa once you are married.
But make sure you have all your documentation in order, pay slips, childs BC with his name named as father, proof of savings.

You should be able to find all the information that you are looking for on the UK Visas website, http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk There are detailed guidelines for Applicants and for Sponsors.

It looks like the cost for a Spouse visa has now shot up to an incredible £500.
http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/servlet/Front ... 6977150007

I see that there is now an on-line application option, otherwise click on "Application Forms and Guidance" and download a VAF2 Settlement form.
