Intended travel date and Employment start date

Post by Joe.lk » Sat Jul 25, 2015 8:48 am

Hi

I have been assigned a restricted Certificate of Sponsorship Tier 2 General this week (70 points). On the COS employment start date was stated as 1 September 2015 (However i don't believe i would be able to travel that soon).

My question is; can i enter my intended travel date on the visa application after the employment start date or does it have to be before the employment start date?

Thanks for you help!

You must start employment on the date specified. Your sponsor is legally bound to report to UKV&I if you don't (see reporting duties).

Alternatively, have the start date changed in the CoS before you apply for visa

Thanks a lot sushdmehta.
My sponsor put a note on my CoS regarding the new date.

Hi Joe.lk,

Did you face any issues with your visa after making the COS amendment? I'd like to know your experience, since I am facing a similar situation. Thanks!
