Acknowledgment time

Post by melkadi » Sat Aug 08, 2015 8:47 am

Hi,

I applied for naturalisation based on 5 years residency on Jun 29 and haven't received the acknowledgment (1st reply) yet. I thought this part of the process takes 2-3 weeks, Anyone had the same experience? What could be the reasons for such delay?

I received my reply after 5 weeks. I know of other instances where it took more than a month.

@ melkadi Probably the acknowledgement letter is lost in the post? you can choose to enquire now or in two weeks time when it will be nearly two months since you applied.

Thanks @gb1985 and @Gracious2015. I rang the helpline and they said they have a backlog to clear, hopefully I get the acknowledgement sometime next week.

Hi @Gracious2015, Yes, I got the acknowledgment letter after 8 weeks from application submission, no 2nd stage letter yet.Hopefully this delay doesn't extend the 6 months period.

@melkadi In my experience and what I have seen in the forum, it appears that the dates of Acknowledgement and Second stage doesnt effect the date of approval, Good luck, keep us updated
