Long Residency - 28 days PEO even with many absences?

Post by nafe12 » Sat Aug 08, 2015 9:02 am

It is clear that for the 10 year LR, an application can be submitted 28 days before the date in which you make up 10 years.

PEO applications are decided the same day.

Question, if you have many absences (say 176 this year, where 180 are allowed), is it the case you should apply no more than 5 days in advance? That is, if you submit more than 5 days in advance, there is still the possibility that you could have left the UK in the interim and thus broken the period of continuous residence.

Any thoughts?

You may apply any day within the 28 days period being referred to irrespective of the number of absences from the UK in the year preceding the application, or in any of the 10 years for that matter.
