adding spouse on miscellaneous oci

Hi

I was in the process
of transferring oci sticker to
new British passport under miscellaneous
Services as well as change of address
And occupation.
I was advised that I would also
need to request that vfs add my
wife's details eg name dob to be
Printed on my booklet in addition
to what is already there ie my
mum and dad's names. I was told
This was a new procedure.
Has anyone come across this before or
Have i been misinformed?

(1) OCI sticker

Important Note: Vide circular No. 26011/06/2015-OCI dated 29th January, 2015 of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, all immigration authorities in India will not insist on production of the foreign passport containing the 'U' Visa Sticker in the case of OCI Cardholders while they enter / exit India and the immigration clearance will be granted based on production of the 'OCI CARD ONLY'.

This implies that the OCI U Visa sticker is no longer mandatory, that the OCI card is sufficient to travel to India. Some countries like the US no longer add the sticker to US passports, VFS insist on adding them to UK passports if you apply for a new OCI card.

(2) OCI change of address and/or occupation

Applying for a change of address and occupation is an online task that generates a document for you to printout and carry with your OCI card. It's not clear to me if doing this is optional or mandatory.

(3) Details of spouse on OCI card

I've not heard of this before. However it is now possible for the non-Indians to apply for an OCI card on the basis of an Indian spouse. Perhaps this is needed for those cases? Such a change would require a new OCI card design or for them to print spouse details on the blank centre pages of the OCI card. Who advised you of this?
