MONEY TRANSFER IRELAND

Post by Ewald » Thu Aug 20, 2015 8:17 am

Hi

I have done a lot of reading regarding relocating to Ireland. I have a South African passport and my fiance has British. She moved here to be with me and we have been together for just over 2 years. We are getting married in Decmeber and we leaving next April. We only leaving then as we need to attend a wedding in the UK then and this falls inline with our time frame for when we will have enough money saved up to keep us going. We think. Most of my questions have been answered by people in the forums and this is really a great community with a wealth of information.

what I want to know is.

1. Should we put all our savings into the British citizens account? do they look only at her financials at the airport? Do they even look?

2. Once we there should we transfer our money to an Irish account?

3. Will 10 000 euros be enough to keep our heads above water for a few months?

Thank you all in advance for any feed back.

Mostly they don,t look at statements , anyway following is in relation to your answers .
1- yes you can put all money into your British account and bring statement with you in case they ask for how you are going to survive.
2- bring some cash with you 1000/1500 is enough to show them , again if they ask .
3- then open a bank account after coming in Ireland and transfer money from uk to here .
