Payment options for HSMP application - Pros and Cons

Post by hsmppune » Mon Oct 01, 2007 8:32 pm

Hi All,

I am an HSMP aspirant from India. I need to know what options do I have for making the payment to the Home Office for my application.

I went through the HSMP guidance and found the following:

"Cheques drawn in sterling on a UK bank account;
UK postal order; or
Credit or debit card.

Payment by any other method will not be accepted."

I have the following queries in this regard:

1) Can I draw the cheque in the international branches of State Bank of India? What commission will I have to pay for the same? Are there other banks who help with the same and are more economical?

2) Similar query for UK postal order. Where all in India can I get it made, and what are the costs associated with each option?

3) I do not own an credit card, but I have a number of debit cards. Can I use my normal debit card to pay for this, and what would be the cost overhead for this?

Please let me know if you have answers to any of the queries above.

Thanks in anticipation.

Regards
Harsh
