Hi Friends,

Got a refusal recently. Have applied for a second time. Attached is my cover letter. Do you see any issues here??

===================================

HSMP Team,
Border and Immigration Agency
7th Floor, Fountain Precinct
Balm Green, Sheffield
S1 2JA

28th September 2007

Dear HSMP Team,

SUBJECT: Application for Highly Skilled Migrant Programme

This letter is with reference to my enclosed application for the UK Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP). To assist my application assessment, I am explaining the evidences I am providing for the ‘points’ claimed.

Enclosures (in the following order):

1. HSMP Application Form

2. Academic Qualifications: (For 35 Points Claimed)
a. Original Degree Certificate stating that a Master of Business Administration (MBA) was awarded by "XXXXX"

3. Previous Earnings – Salaried Employment: (For 25 Points Claimed)
I have claimed 25 points for the gross income (INR 460,219 or about GBP 5,402) earned by me from 27th Sep 2006 to 31st Mar 2007. As per Annex-C of HSMP guidelines I am providing the following evidences.
a. Income Tax Return (ITR) for the financial year 2006-07. Actual employment/earning period covered under the ITR was 27th Sep 2006 to 31st Mar 2007. The total earning for the period was INR 462,418, which includes cash salary earnings of INR 460,219 and other salary perquisites of INR 2,199. I am claiming a salaried earning of INR 460,219, as further substantiated by my wage slips.
b. Wage Slips from Oct-2006 to 30-April-2007 (covering the entire amount mentioned in IT return)
c. Banks Statements for the period 01-Oct-2006 to 10-May-2007
d. Form 16 – Certificate of earning from my employer

4. Age Assessment: (For 20 Points Claimed)
a. Driving License

5. English Language:
a. Original IELTS TRF Overall Band Score 8.5

Total Points Claimed – 80 Points

In addition to the above-mentioned documents, I am enclosing a copy of your decision regarding my previous HSMP application. My previous application (Your Ref 222XXX) was awarded 80 points but was unsuccessful, as my TOEFL transcript could not satisfy the English language criteria. I am submitting this application with same set of documents to support my claim for Academic qualification, Previous earning and Age assessment. I am furnishing IELTS TRF (overall band score 8.5) with this application to satisfy the English language criteria.

Further I request you to please inform me on my email (XXX) once a decision has been made. I have arranged a courier pick-up for the same from your office. With this I present my application for your consideration. I look forward to your valuable feedback.

Yours truly,

XXXXXX

Application sent to HO : Sept 27
Application reached HO : Oct 1

My credit card has not been debited though. I wonder why.

Hi purplepple,

My guess is that your card would be charged too. But the banks post it to your account (which is accessible online) at a later date.

I called the Bank and checked with them. So I would suggest you to call up the bank and ask for a 400 GBP transaction at the merchent: "The Home Office UK"

Wish you the best with your application!

Regards,
CD

Hi CD!

Thank you so much for the advice. I called up my credit card's customer service and they told me that it was debited last Oct 1 but posted today.

Good luck to both of us! :)

We have a somewhat similar situation.

In my case, I did not write anything in the Exceptional consideration box but in the checklist of evidences, I checked the tick box for academic transcript and wrote down beside it that I'm providing it for additional evidence only.

Yes! I called the customer service yesterday and got my reference no. Today, I sent additional evidence to strengthen my case on English language requirement.

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=19417

I also emailed them if my application has already been assigned to a caseworker. They said they haven't assigned it yet, and they'll be waiting for the additional evidence I sent before making a final decision.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.... :D

For now , keeping my fingers crossed

Previous Earnings : 45 points
Claim Period : Jul 16, 2006 to Jul 15, 2007
Income Tax Return (I did not tick this for required evidence. Instead, I claimed for exceptional consideration and explained that it does not cover the full claim period and does not include other allowances that are declared in the pay slips)
Pay slips for claim period except for maternity leave
Bank statements for the full claim period
Letter from employer detailing salaries received one-time for the maternity leave period
Spreadsheet detailing the gross salaries & allowances, evidences provided for the period, and net salaries corroborating with bank statements

English Language Requirement
Bachelor's degree certificate (as provided under Academic Qualification)

Additional evidence sent:

I hope these are enough to gain approval from BIA.

I forgot to add. I also supplied the ff as additional evidences:

1. Marriage certificate : provided these becaues some of my pay slips show my married name while my other documents show my maiden name

2. Name card : to show my company's address and contact details. Also to show both my maiden and married surnames (ie (first name) (surname)-(husband's surname))

3. Photocopy of passport : just to show that my passport is still under my maiden name since the expiry is on 2011

I only mentioned these in my cover letter, not in my application form.
