Switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2 & work start dates

Post by BriKH » Thu Sep 10, 2015 7:24 pm

Hello all!

I'm hoping someone can help in regards to switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2.

Providing I have the salary requirements, a certificate of sponsorship from an 'A' rated sponsor, paid all the fees as you do...do I need to wait until the visa comes back approved to start or can I start work while waiting for it?

I know generally you need to wait until your visa comes back but I read on a university website that a benefit from switching tiers is being allowed to work straight away. I wanted some feedback here first before I was convinced!

Thanks in advance for any help!

You are allowed to start work if you have leave remaining on your Tier 4 VISA and your studies are completed and result is arrived.

I also switched from Tier 4 to Tier 2 last month and I started job on 1st July but I applied and VISA was approved on 19 August.
