Dependent visa - Out of country for more than 3 months

Post by Varatha » Tue Sep 15, 2015 5:12 pm

Hi Friends,

My wife and child (3 years old) had travelled to India on June 2015 and will be returning on December 2015. Both are NON-EEA and on dependent visa and having the multiple entry visa valid until January 2016.

Recently a friend of mine enquired about this at GNIB office counter and was told that if the visa holder is away for more than 3 months then they must apply for a fresh visa from respective country to enter Ireland.

I've never heard any such rule and bit worried if they could be denied entry. Did anyone heard of such rule or experienced similar situation?

Any information in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Varatha
