I am very worried about my current status.
I am currently in the UK on a Tier 2 visa that is set to expire this November 4th. Yesterday, HR discovered that there were no allocations for assigning an unrestricted COS. They thought they got them automatically each year and said this was the case before (not sure how true this is).
Anyway, they submitted an application for one using the SMS system yesterday Oct 8th. We were told on the phone that it could take up to 18 weeks! Home Office also said that if we don't hear back from next week we can put in an email urgent request.
What is the likelihood that HR will give us the COS allocation in time? I have about 3.5 weeks left and I'm very anxious and stressed that even with the urgent request sent through we may not get it.
My organization has an A rating as a Sponsor, I am on 50k GBP a Year under 1139 Functional managers and directors not elsewhere classified.
Am I at risk that I won't get the allocation in time? Should I hire a lawyer? Will a lawyer be helpful in making a stronger case when we request them to make an urgent review/allocation?
Any advise is most appreciated!
Many thanks
Jenny
