Number of dependents on ILR

Post by mgopal » Tue Oct 13, 2015 10:20 am

Hi

I have a ILR and I am planning to bring my parents, wife (already has travelled to UK on a dependent Tier 2 visa) and child ( first time) to the UK. I am not able to find anywhere on how many dependent I can bring?

Should I maintain like a minimum balance per dependent? i.e. £1800 per dependent etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Do you want to bring your parents as visitors or to settle?

Almost impossible to bring parents. The UK does not permit family chain migration.

Just browsing through, I found that parents can be bought to the UK under the 'Coming to be cared for ' rule.

So, it looks it is possible if you prove all the following criteria :

you need long-term care to do everyday personal and household tasks
the care you need is not available or affordable in the country you live in
the person you’ll be joining in the UK will be able to support, accommodate and care for you without claiming public funds for at least 5 years
you’re 18 or over

Thanks

Practically impossible as others have said, plus it costs £2k to apply, 99.99% chance of refusal, then no more visit visas since an intent to settle has been demonstrated.

The bolded bit is the kicker, most countries that's cheaper than the NHS cost, catch 23.

Yes, and since the rules were tightened in July 2012, there have been very few approvals.

If you apply and they are refused, you also shut the door on any future visitor visa applications they might want to make.

What is their nationality, how old are they, illnesses etc?
