Which Tier 2 to apply for

Post by Mobiusrex » Sat Oct 31, 2015 10:53 am

Dear CR001 , I have one final question for you and hoping that you can provide your expert advise

November 2010 - May 2011 (6 Months) - Tier 2 Visa (ICT) Established Staff
May 2011-October 2015 ( 4 Years 6 Months) - Tier 1 General
I was first granted my Tier 1 general in May 2011 with the expiry in May 2013.I had applied for the extension of this Tier 1 general in February 2013 and I was given a 3 year extension till February 2016.(3 Years)

As you suggested I have started looking for jobs & employers that will give me a CoS on Tier 2 General visa to get me over the line for the 5 year period.I want to make sure that i don't misinterpret the Tier 2 General visa categories that will help me achieve this.

Can you please advise if the below Tier 2 General visas qualify ? I have looked at the Tier 2 form and below are the types listed there . I just want to make sure that I don't make a mistake on what visa can be used in combination with my Tier 1 period.

1.Tier 2 General, ICT Long Term Staff, Sport & MOR - up to 3 years leave to remain
2.Tier 2 General, ICT Long Term Staff, Sport & MOR - up to 3 years leave to remain - CeSC
3.Tier 2 ICT Short Term Staff, Graduate Trainee or Skills Transfer
4.Tier 2 ICT Short Term Staff, Graduate Trainee or Skills Transfer - CeSC
5.Tier 2 General, ICT Long Term Staff – over 3 years leave to remain
6.Tier 2 General, ICT Long Term Staff – over 3 years leave to remain - CeSC
7.Tier 2 Shortage Occupations - up to 3 years
8.Tier 2 Shortage Occupations - up to 3 years - CeSC
9.Tier 2 Shortage Occupations - over 3 years
20.Tier 2 Shortage Occupations - over 3 years - CeSC

"Tier 2 (General)"
The period of grant will depend on the length of sponsorship mentioned in the CoS and the immigration rules.
